Canning is something completely new to me, but with the current state of the world we are trying to make our food last longer and not throw away anything. So the first thing I had to do was buy the tools. I'm not sure about anyone, but buying gear for a project is the nudge I need to really figure out how to do it. This set gave me just such an impulse. First thing I liked was the color (may seem silly but hey), bright green is something that pops up in my kitchen all the time and reminds me of canned goods. Then the variety of tools inspired me to try them for the first time to understand exactly what they all do. As far as I know it had everything I needed except cans. I did a lot of research at this point and I'm still no expert, but it was a fun experience that made us feel less wasteful.
