Back massagers don't relieve pain

Over a year ago I had a sprain in my shoulder that was never treated or seriously treated and my QL muscles are very sore. Unfortunately, this massager does nothing for my shoulder or my QLs. Basically, it just hurts those areas more. I'll try to use it for a short time but right now I just feel hopeless. To be honest it was my last hope. I'm a housewife, so my body is constantly struggling to keep up. Today I left work with a massager and used it in the car on sore spots. I don't feel a big difference. Maybe my feet hurt a little less because I didn't have to prop them up on pillows after work today. That begs the question: are the other reviews lying, or am I just too messed up to get relief? Or am I doing this completely wrong? I constantly move the massager, avoiding bones and playing with speeds. I don't know what else to do. My shoulder may have gone too far, but what about my QLs? Why doesn't it help them?

Pros
  • Back massagers
