I mounted a dual band antenna on the back door of my Jeep Wrangler, but at the base of the antenna there is a few inches pressing against the metal. So I bought it thinking I could use it to get the antenna high enough to get through the metal tailgate. On UHF I get a decent SWR of about 1.3:1, on VHF it goes up to 2:1. Removing the extension brings both values back to around 1.2:1. I'll test that again with my CB antenna and radio. If it works I will save it for this purpose. If not, I'll send it back.
