Review on Zi-Rui 3D Filament Printer by Geoff Cooper

Revainrating 5 out of 5

One day I found out.

It took me a while to get this thread right. On my Robo R1+ I had to turn the retraction off completely or it would accidentally get stuck on or near the nozzle. The line gauge tested at various points on the spool is 1.74-1.81mm. If you look closely at the picture of the thread, you will see that the "grain” is slightly protruding in places. If you take the measurement on opposite sides with the grit on the surface the diameter gets bigger and I think that's why I was having retraction jams. With 0.4 mm nozzle, extruder 215°C, layer temperature 55°C with purple glue stick. on glass, 50mm print speed, rim or rock fit, 22% hex infill pattern and cura wood support, it delivers a pretty good approximation and depth to marble or maybe even soapstone. I love color and grain. The picture only shows some of the parts I made with the reel I bought, they have hardly been cleaned apart from the base. The support of the tree immediately flakes off, leaving almost nothing. It was difficult to get this filament to work on my old printer, but I think the end result is worth it. I am satisfied and will probably buy more.

Pros
  • High Compatibility: The filaments are universally designed and compatible with 3D printers and 3D pens. using a 1.75mm diameter thread with a dimensional accuracy of +/- 0.03mm.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
