Disappointed: Security

I really wanted to like this product! It looks way cooler than any other monitor on the market, the display unit feels solid and looks great too, the features advertised are everything I wanted in a baby monitor. Functionally, however, it was a disappointment! Camera movement is unresponsive and slow. You have to hold down the arrow keys for a second or more for it to move, and then it'll move in big hops, making small tweaks impossible. There is also a delay in the video stream, so by the time you think you have the position you want on the monitor, the actual camera position has already shifted further. The audio also has a large delay of over a second. This makes two-way communication very difficult. The software looks like it's from the 90s! The user interface is ugly and pixelated, and the navigation menu layout is unintuitive and difficult to interpret. The keys also seem sticky. The video quality seemed great at first, but then deteriorated to a pixelated mush almost immediately after moving the monitor around the apartment. It looks like a connection problem. Overall, while the looks of this product are excellent and the advertised features are impressive, the technical execution leaves a lot to be desired. I wasn't able to test battery life or Wi-Fi functionality as the issues above were enough to rule that out for me. I'm sending it back. The fact that this product was released in its current state is a testament to how low Kodak's quality assurance standards have fallen.

Pros
  • EXPAND YOUR SYSTEM: Connect the C125 to your existing Cherish baby monitor as an additional camera (up to 4 cameras can be paired) or use it as a standalone camera with the Kodak Smart Home mobile app.
