This is a good basic tool (reasonable name); It's not the strongest my husband has used, but it's enough for his needs. He textured the drywall in our garage to paint and finish. This is a relatively small job and made it easier for him to apply the "dirt", which he then smoothed out with a trowel. He also used it to patch up major damage to our plaster walls from a poorly designed towel rail that the previous owners of our house had installed that looked like gorilla glue (I'm not kidding). He found working with this small plaster filling and repair tool easier than the big spatula, which must be painful because he always swears a lot when repairing plaster π (but it looks brand new). He says it's not for heavy or large jobs, but it's good for patchwork and small jobs, it's easy to store, and it has a nice handle that's easy to hold (he has big hands and found it handy). It's not outstanding but does the job for a very reasonable price and the grip is better than the other (slightly smaller) it has. He would order this brand again if he needed a relatively low budget option. it's pretty durable. We've had good luck with most of the Revain Basics products. They're not trendy or premium, but they're good for the price and last well.
