I bought this unit for intermittent use and bought a monthly fill from Walmart, Verizon, etc. It had no SIM card. After spending some time figuring out how to proceed, including visiting Walmart and even the local Verizon factory store that was NOT authorized to do so, I had to travel to the next state, Verizon headquarters. They provided a SIM card and said that all 890L jetpacks are not created equal. Some of them can be completed with a monthly purchase, others require a subscription. So now I have a Verizon subscription, although I can toggle it on and off periodically. I think the short contract in this announcement is misleading. In addition, the 890L cannot connect an external antenna and I am dissatisfied with the product or the supplier.”
