Review on Men's Black Vibram Cross Trainer Shoes 7.5-8 by Chris Prix

I would like to start by saying I have had eleven pairs of VFFs since 2011. This may sound like a fanatic, but it really isn't. . I've bought several models and used them for everything from water sports to hiking and running. Some things I liked very much, some not so much. One of my favorite models was the original KSO. This is perhaps the most eclectic show they've ever done. I didn't come across the later, more complex styles. When KSO EVO came out, I decided to give it a try. EVO isn't bad, but I still think the original is better. I love the EVO outsole. It's thin, flexible and tough. The lacing system is good. I love the old velcro but I'll admit the laces do the trick. I'm less than impressed with EVO riding. The original sat higher at the ankle and sealed better. It "holds things in place" but the EVO's upper sits below the ankle and isn't as tight. It's comfortable enough, but I doubt it protects against dirt as well as the original. In terms of fit, I think the EVO is a bit smaller than the original, but not enough to pose an issue or force me to go up a size. I have one more note to make about fit. My foot is 10-7/8 inches long. According to Vibram, this has always put me "between two sizes". However, when I bought my first pair of VFFs, their website ranked me between 43 and 44. Today, their website ranks me between 44 and 45. I think their current information is more accurate. I bought these EVOs in size 44. The outsole is about 11 inches long and as mentioned they are a bit narrower than the original KSOs in the same size but not so narrow that I ordered a 45. In summary, the KSO EVO is light, flexible and tough, maybe even more so than the original. If that's what matters most to you, you'll love this model. But the original KSO offers more protection and a more secure fit. Buy the original when that matters most to you.
