Can't really take a star off even if I try. I don't like that it's not real leather. I knew that before I bought it. I don't like the plasticity of the strap and the plastic clip at the end of the strap. This works for belt loops, but if you're at the gym in shorts or sweatpants; This clip easily detaches from the edge of your bag. I replaced it with a chain from an old Dickies wallet. Almost perfect now. I only wish it was real leather.
