I was frustrated that my electric grinder was overheating. This little device is good enough for shredding papers when you open your mail and throwing away the papers to be shredded. Since it only cuts paper in one direction (no cross cut) I collect the shredded papers and throw them in a bucket of water and the next day they are unreadable. I know there's an extra step in how I shred it, but for me it's almost like waiting for an overheated shredder to cool down.
