We first bought this backpack for my 2 year old son. he loves it so much It fits almost everything he needs (drink, 4 little monster trucks, fire fox, snacks and a hat). It has a silk material and is very smooth, which I wasn't expecting. The material is definitely durable and the stitching is well done. In general, I think this bag will be enough for us for the first year and maybe more.
