The product arrived as advertised, including batteries. The receiver/transmitter is hidden in the battery compartment. Take it out and connect it to a computer (USB 2.0). Windows 7 installed the drivers and they synced/worked right away. You point your device at the screen and it syncs with the hand pointer. Wave your hand/wrist and the pointer will move to where you are aiming. It has a built in green laser pointer and works great. You can use the green laser dot to calibrate the accuracy of the pointer by aligning them. It loses accuracy after a few minutes of use, meaning you'll gradually notice that you're pointing a few inches to the left while the pointer is pointing to the right. This is easily fixed by quickly calibrating the accuracy (takes seconds). There are no gaps or gaps. The mouse is smooth and intuitive. The buttons on the controller (especially for "right and left click") are small and take some getting used to as you'll likely have to use your thumb and the thumb size/pressure is much larger than a mouse button. You can use the laser with or without mouse activity (the laser point doesn't work "like" a mouse pointer). You have to press and hold the "laser" button to activate the laser. There is an on/off switch on the side that can be slid forward to the on position. It seems that this button is about to get sloppy (after turning it on and off a lot). Flip through slides in multimedia applications such as PowerPoint. The main complaint is that you buy this device for the mouse function, but the mouse buttons (left and right click) are placed closer to the palm of your hand towards the tip/point rather than the bottom of your hand, where there is, there is a set of buttons for activating actions in PowerPoint, but no mouse actions. As mentioned, these (mouse) "buttons" are not only "reachable" for the thumb, but they are small and you often press two buttons at the same time. With a little practice, this device could end up being a game changer.
