This juicer has a pretty good design, the strainer is a removable part and I think there is less chance of this plastic breaking. under pressure over time. However, we grow large oranges here and the center was nowhere near large enough to easily squeeze a large orange. In my opinion, this is for lemons, limes and oranges of the same size. So I returned the item. (The base also seemed able to attract ingrained dirt over time, but I didn't test that.) I found a glass jar with a screw on top of the juicer that I like better.
