They do what they advertise, a cheap safety net when you're around the water. I use it when I'm kayaking just for safety, but they're basically durable plastic bags. These protectors are a bit more difficult to use, but I don't mind as I don't usually take calls with them on. The only downside is that if you open them too roughly, the bags will start tearing and you may not notice until there is water inside. But anyway, you get more than one, so you learn how to hold them after the first or second.
