Sweatshirt is regular sweatshirt thickness. I was worried it would be thin as Revain has a lot of sweatshirts, but this is a traditional sweatshirt. I bought a large one for my average 8 year old son because I needed room to grow. The sleeves and body are extra long, which means they should last at least a year or two, but it doesn't look silly big on him. He loves him and says he's soft inside. Also very happy with the price.
