It could be that good BUT please read

ok, good at first. This is a fairly large drone with big enough brushless motors so it performs fairly well and handles the wind well. (Probably Class 7, but I can't verify). It has 3 speeds and the top speed is quite high. It flies well and fairly easily and is fun to fly. It has a 3-axis gimbal that works very well for video stabilization. There is a 4K camera. It takes great pictures and video clarity is pretty good (saturation can be a bit high). It comes with 2 batteries (each listed for 25 minutes - in reality more like 18-19). It comes in a nice case and includes extra props. The app has some decent extras (follow me, circle, waypoints, etc.) that actually work as they should. I actually tested them all and they worked as expected. Returning home brought the drone back about 3ft from launch, which is pretty good. Now for the "other" part. First to the smaller things. The movement of the remote-controlled gimbal up and down is not very smooth, but rather a bit jerky. The gimbal works decently overall, but there are occasional "jitters" and a slight "jelly" effect. Occasionally, after a yaw move, the aircraft will "snap" back to its previous "pre-yaw" position. I haven't been able to figure out any pattern in it and it seems somewhat random when it happens. Of course, like most toy-class drones, you'll need to recalibrate the compass every time you turn the device back on (even if you're just changing the batteries). records videos at 15 frames per second with a bit rate of 15 Mbit/s. This makes the video "less smooth", if not choppy. This is especially noticeable when the drone and/or objects in the video are moving faster. Probably worst when yawing. This can be fixed with a firmware update, but I'm not sure if the hardware is even ready for that. And the biggest downside for me is just the price. The starting price of $459 is out of bounds. They've now dropped the regular price to $429 and are selling for $399. Even with coupon discounts bringing the price down to $379, it's overpriced for this drone. You can get it (Original SJRC) from China in a 2 battery configuration for around $269. Still, probably too much given that the "Toy Drone Killer" (Mini SE) launched for $299 and there aren't even any such drones in a game. I cannot in good conscience recommend this drone, especially in this price range. I still give it 3 stars because it does what it advertises and does it well enough. $$$. I'm including video and footage to hopefully show both the good and the bad. Only once was one of the batteries completely discharged. I contacted the company and they sent another one (which they did quickly) so thanks for that. They seem to be pretty quick to respond to requests.
