All the reviews said they are very soft and quite comfortable to the touch, but when the eye makeup is removed they indeed are a little annoying. Also, I literally can't tell if the makeup is off the black pads, so I have to use a mirror, which I don't like. I usually remove my makeup just before my head hits the pillow and look at the pillow to make sure the blacks and skin tones stop fading. Most likely I'll order a set of white ones and keep the black ones in reserve. I know there will be smudges on white, but black just doesn't work for my use. In general, I'm happy that I'm replacing my hygiene routine with an eco-friendly product. I've used disposable makeup remover wipes in the past so I'm still happy with my purchase.
