I was in a hurry when I opened the product and used it for the first time, so I didn't realize the mascara was already there open. Upon receipt, the box with the mascara was damaged, but I thought that happened during delivery (envelope) and I wasn't worried. When I started applying it the next morning, half asleep, I didn't realize the tamper-evident seal was broken until I was done and putting the cap back on. and that I'm not broken. This item was clearly opened prior to sale - may have been used or returned. Unacceptable. Not a weird eye infection yet, but okay. So let's pretend none of that happened for a second and talk about the mascara itself. As described in other reviews, it is not brown/black, but black and labeled accordingly. Actually I wanted it black and trusted the reviews. But if you want brown/black, keep looking. The volume/color ratio isn't fantastic. I like the more dramatic look of my lashes, but it seems that no matter what mascara I use these days, I run into some clumping issues, so I keep looking for something that adds length and drama without excessive clumping. With a base coat and probably five coats (and the usual use of an eyelash comb) I find it beautiful and gives a more natural but striking look. However, I don't think it's worth buying again and I DEFINITELY could not buy back through this seller.
