Assembly was easy but the top (wire part) lacked strength. The wire was thin and the top latch showed signs of wear after just a few openings/closings. The top latch is not very secure. If you snap it on the 2nd bar you can't open it without releasing the sides and opening from the bottom, but if you use the 1st latch it's too loose. We didn't even have a cage for a full 24 hours and our hamster escaped. My daughter thought she left the top latch open but after spying on the hamster we found that she pushed it herself and ran away. Could be a disaster as we have a cat in the house. In addition, the water bottle snaps into the cage and falls out of the holder very easily. My daughter had to repeat it several times. In general it's not worth the money.
