Digital calipers with good value for money. The digital display can easily switch between inches, millimeters and fractions. All metal except for the reader body which is plastic with an LCD screen. Have used it several times out of the box and kept it at "zero" with no issues. I bought these to use for a science school project so my best calipers wouldn't break. The only issues I have with this item (all minor): - Chain movement is not smooth like my other more expensive calipers (this may change as calipers break in) - Fine tuning wheel/caliper extension feels cheap. The metal wheel is attached to the back of the display with a plastic tab, making it cheap - the caliper wheel doesn't spin as smoothly as my other all-metal/non-digital calipers. Pros - Nice hard plastic case - Spare battery included. (came with one already installed) - Accurate compared to my analog metal calipers - easily "zeros" and stays zero - easy to read multimeter reading - solid build and metal CONS - a bit stiff out of the box - looks like it would take little break-in time for a smoother ride - Adjuster dial feels cheap but works well once you get the hang of it - Anti-corrosion coating (for shipping) on the caliper probably contributes to a lack of "smoothness" - A good wipe down with WD-40 helped.
