Review on SmallRig Blackmagic Design Assist 12G SDI Camera & Photo by Tammy Smith

This is a good product that fits the current version of bmd va. Being a touch screen you can understand the limitations the protection has to offer, you can't put plexiglass on top of the touch screen etc. So it protects the product from bumps and it has a lot of good strong mounting points and all ports. and even markers are accessible/visible. When I stow it I flip the sun visor over, loosen the straps a bit and fold them down to protect the screen as it lays flat and works well in this configuration. Since it's a large piece of aluminum attached to the body of the device, it cools it down a lot. I was amazed at how hot it got when I first used it, but has gotten a lot colder since I put the cage on it. I used it for about 6 hours today and it wasn't hot at the end and I remember when I first got it without a cage it felt hot after 15 minutes. I think the heatsink function will be expanded. The lifespan of the device that determines it makes it more enjoyable to use. Don't forget to buy high density SDI cables (don't call them mini-SDI cables because mini-SDI cables are a different type of cable (which doesn't look like a BNC cable and works with this device not working).
