It's convenient, consistent, and relatively easy.
The biggest problem with the slicer is that if you're small like me (5ft 2") it's very difficult to grasp the slicer to squeeze hard enough to slice apples. will be quite difficult if you don't use small ones. Older users (I'm 75) may not have the strength to press that hard. Still, it's a good slicer and the slices are the perfect size for "blobs" of peanut butter .
