I mix about 10 drops in a small spray bottle with distilled water to spray every time we go outside to avoid bites. We used it for 2 weeks and no new bites! We've never had a problem with mosquitoes in the past, but the last two summers have been terrible. My daughter plays outside a lot and was covered in bites that swelled up and scratched her. She looked like a tweaker leg. We resorted to constant spraying of DEET to help her. We decided we needed something that could be used frequently in everyday situations. We put a bottle on the patio and she squirts every time she leaves. It doesn't last as long as the DEET stuff, but it's fine for everyday use, especially since your bedding wears it. I use this for the garden and the citronella needed in a large diffuser on my patio for other bugs. So far it's working and we're back for more.
