who needs special blades. And it's worth deducting a star but other than that I really like the shave I get with this razor. It has a nice heavy feel and the dual blade cartridge delivers a very close shave that never irritates my skin as much as DE blades. I have tried Astra Blades, Personna Blades, Dorco Blades, Derby Blades, Feather Blades etc and they all irritated my throat. With a four-edged blade I was able to avoid this entirely and maintain a grainy shave while saving a lot on spare blades compared to cartridge razors. but the shape of the razor head gives you good feedback. You have to let the razor do its job. Digging and applying pressure like you can with cartridge razors will result in tears and cuts. If you're familiar with the DE Razor and like cheap blades, this probably won't put you off. As for me, I'm willing to shell out a few bucks to avoid cuts and razor discomfort. If you've tried DE razors and wet razors and found your skin is too sensitive for the experience, then this is worth a try. Just make sure you prep your skin properly and don't shave against the grain.
