There were no assembly instructions so I had to find a video of a similar product on the internet and then try to compare it. a betta, two snails and some live plants. I left the rod with holes, not the water spout. Sometimes I raise the pole above the water level to make a nice rain sound (like in the photo) or lower it underwater to make it quiet. Engine hum is audible, but not too loud. it is, but I'll repost it if I have trouble getting it to work in the future. In general I am satisfied with them. Especially considering the price.
