After my hip injury I wasn't sure I needed this. I had trouble getting on and off the couch. I bought them not quite sure how they would work. Needless to say I LOVE these stands! They work great and match the ugly shape of the sofa "legs"! I recommend them to anyone who has trouble getting up from a seated position. I bought a second set of chairs! There is a minus. They don't have a cushion between them and your floor. If you have carpet, no problem! I have original hardwood floors and have had no issues with scratches or stains on the floor. They're not very pretty, but they're definitely functional and easy to "install"!
