Review on Procomm JBC930 High-Quality 3/8-24 Stud Mount for Optimal Performance of Ham & CB Radio Antennas by Wendell Chapman

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Looks good, badly made.

First of all, this is not brass as advertised. At least not great. The top is aluminum, the bottom can be brass, and the center conductor is brass. Second, the 3/8-24 threads sit very loosely on top of the bolt, which comes with the thin threads that don't have many threads anyway, and the fact that it's aluminum makes it a very weak link in a product that should be super powerful. Overtightening and/or a large/heavy antenna can result in failure. When I put them together I feel a radial gap between them. I thought of squeezing the wire with pliers to tighten it but due to other issues I decided to send it back.

Pros
  • All frequencies up to 20 kW
Cons
  • No power
