Package Contents: The device came with base station, power adapter and manual. , during and after use: Modes: 5 different modes can be selected to operate the device. Load, unload, update, test and quick test. It's great to have so many options for your batteries! Overheat Protection: The system has a built-in temperature control monitor and cooling fan and does its job perfectly. That doesn't mean you shouldn't keep an eye on your batteries, though. If you have a "heater" handy, the device will drain more and more power into that bad battery and will have trouble cooling the device down. I have a laser temperature sensor to keep an eye on the batteries. Ad: I found this very useful. You can switch between all the settings that the device is currently set to without interrupting the process, including the current status of the running process. Current: This is my favorite part of the device. You can charge or discharge 4 cells at the same time with 1000mah or 1 amp for Li-ion cells. You also have 200, 300, 500, 700, 1000, 1500 and 2000 mAh charging options available. However, the top mAh charging options require you to use specific slots and only 2 can be used at a time. Voltage meter: I now only use the voltage from my multimeter as the actual cell voltage. But this device is not stupid. When cell voltage is indicated as low, it doesn't simply send whatever mAh current you chose into the cell. It automatically reduces the current to a very small "drip charge" until the voltage rises enough to begin delivering the selected current. I love this feature! Backlit display: You have the option to have the backlit display on all the time or turn it off after a pre-programmed time. Multiple Cell Options: Too many to list here, but trust me, this baby can handle all types of batteries. Cons: Reset: I didn't understand under what conditions this device resets while charging. It's not due to overheating, power outage or power outage but for some reason the device automatically reverts to its default charging settings which is 500mAh. The only thing I found that overrides this is to select all bays and cycle through the modes to charge and reset the current to 1000mAh. Really very frustrating considering how much I love this device. Fans: While I listed this as a big plus, it's also a minus that there is a balancing issue with the manufacture of these devices. The fans will try to turn around and make a hell of a racket because they're off balance or something. This happens several times until they finally start skidding with no problem. I've learned to put up with this, but it should be taken into account if you plan to buy this device. Wish list: More powerful power supply. The power adapter that came with the unit does a good job, but it is only rated for 12VDC and 100-240V @ 50/60Hz input and the output is 12VDC @ 3.0A which seems odd given that it's charging can be 4 A. In my opinion, a stronger power supply is needed. Personal experience: I am building a DIY power supply for my house and need to process 1000 18650 cells. I have 5 of these devices running 24/7 and aside from the downsides I listed regarding rebooting (which only happens on the oldest device). ) These kids are doing a great job! large and small works.Recommendation: Damn good buy!
