Bad fix for ITBS

Like many of the other reviewers here, I suffer from IT Band Syndrome and have been looking for relief. I was skeptical about this product from the start, but I was desperate and wanted to try everything. To be clear, I have no issues with this particular brand of IT strap. The concept of the strap makes me doubt. It's actually a compression strap. Easy and uncomplicated. If you have joint or muscle pain anywhere in your body, there's probably a compression sleeve or belt for that. In my experience, sleeves are a much better option for use during actual activity. When your body moves, especially when running, you need something that is flexible and promotes good blood flow. On the other hand, harnesses are much more dangerous when used in activities like running because they don't offer flexibility. As activity levels increase, certain parts of the body begin to swell naturally. And wearing the strap might be comfortable when you first put it on, but it inevitably gets too tight with activity. At this point you are no longer wearing a compression strap; They wear a tourniquet. And what makes me nervous is that there are so many reviews on here telling people to make sure this strap is REALLY snug for best results. I personally think this is terrible advice as it can lead to serious issues like poor circulation and inadequate circulation. Basically what you would want if you ever need a tourniquet. But at the same time, it is obvious that wearing this band too loosely will not bring any benefit. This is where it becomes important to find the middle ground. I find this strap to be suitable for general, low-intensity use, such as: B. daily walking. It can also be helpful for restoring compression after exercise. But I definitely wouldn't recommend using this strap for high-intensity exercise like running or weightlifting. Sleeves are a much better option for these types of activities. If you use them for any reason, just look out for the signs that the tape is too tight. For example feeling cold or tingling in your legs or feet, feeling like you need to stop and stretch more than usual, or just general numbness or tiredness in your legs. If something isn't right, it might be time to loosen the strap a little. But please don't take the advice of others in tightening it as tightly as you can, as doing so puts you at greater risk of slowing down normal blood flow, which could result in more harm than recovery.
