Great Sounding 2003 Escalade

I ordered this to replace my rusty muffler on my 2003 Escalade 6.0. The startup sound is great as the truck has a deeper growl. During the cruise, the sounds are also very pleasant. The sound fades as you let off the gas, but really comes alive under moderate to hard acceleration. Overall I like the sound and it's less gritty than a similar Flowmaster I put in a similar truck with the same engine a while back. A big question everyone asks, is it a drone? The answer is yes, it does. From 1900 to 2200 rpm and when accelerating on the highway off the ramp from 80 to 70 km/h, yes, it hums. It's not bad, but noticeable if you pay attention. The first week I paid too much attention to it and considered changing it. But after getting used to it, it seems to me that this is normal. Don't get me wrong, it's on the high end of my "tolerance" scale, but everything is fine now. Mind you, I have two kids, one of whom is a toddler in a car seat, and she doesn't care. In fact, it kicks out all the time when I'm driving. The woman also drives a car and is not bothered by noises. You can have a normal conversation without screaming over the sound of this muffler. I had a Series 40 Flowmaster on a Yukon with a 6.0 and it was too loud on startup and buzzed through the rev range and I hated it. In summary, this Magnaflow sounds really good with a deep rumble, retains the characteristic sounds with a bit more rumble you would expect from a luxury SUV, is a bit grumpy but manageable with a slight release of the throttle, and the silencer magazine was in able to weld it in place with no or modifications. Note: I have stock intake, manifold and pipes with no other modifications to my exhaust other than the muffler.
