We bought this RAM card for my Dell Optiplex 755 after having had problems in the past with several other RAM cards that originally came in the box (it was refurbished). In short, out of three, two didn't work, and we ran Windows 7 on a gigabyte of physical memory for a long time. Considering how long my phone lasts and my laptop has two, it wasn't ideal. Having disassembled my PC to remove the above RAM cards in the past, installation was very easy but not very easy. Not from the side of the cards themselves, but because they are very, very difficult to fit in, although I hesitated at the last minute to get the pin and manufacturer right ("Was it 240-pin or 200? DDR2 or DDR something- that? !") But they work fantastic and with them I found out that one of the previous memory cards REALLY worked. I just didn't plug it all the way in for fear it would snap like a branch. The cards are deceptively strong. I'd say don't overdo it, but it's EXACTLY what you need to do. I now have happily 6GB of RAM and love it.
