I've been using this camera fairly actively in wet conditions for about 3 years and am very happy with it. I open and close the hatch carefully to ensure no dirt or hair gets caught in the seal, and I only open it when the chamber is dry; I've never had a leak. I used it for snorkeling, so underwater for well over an hour, submerged occasionally, probably 15-20 feet (I'm guessing it is) and mostly on the surface. I also use it in kayaks a few times a month, mostly in salt water, it gets wet every time because of the splashes and I keep it submerged regularly, to take photos of marine life from the kayak in the water. After a day of salt water, I submerge it, along with other waterproof electronics, in warm (not hot) water for about 15 minutes to absorb the salt. I think rinse it in fresh water and let it dry completely. The images this camera captures are of very high quality; They can easily be used for large prints. I mostly use the automatic mode, but there are other modes that are sometimes useful, such as a mode that lets you quickly take a lot of shots in a row, which is good for shooting on the go. If I had to choose a negative, I often wish for more optical zoom. The high-end model has a larger optical zoom, but of course it is more expensive. If I ever have to replace this camera, I'll get the same one, but with a bigger zoom. m, including an underwater photo to demonstrate the quality - this photo has not been edited at all, except to reduce the size for an online position. Colors are very beautiful when there is enough sun on the subject or when the subject is close enough to the camera's flash. On a cloudy day, when the subject is not close to the flash, the photos will be a little grey/blue and will need to be edited in Lightroom or similar software to bring out the colors. to demonstrate the quality - this photo has not been edited at all, except to reduce the size for an online position.
