Bought this to replace an identical one that had worn out. I never thought of magnets as something that wears out, but my old one just didn't last. It turned out (when I cut it open to inspect) that the magnets were completely covered in rust, especially the ends. The ends were swollen with rust so the magnets could only touch at the ends, not the middle. I'm pretty sure it's the result of salty sweat after hundreds of miles of running. I bought the same case again because I really like it, but it would be better if the magnets had some sort of fully waterproof coating to protect them.
