As shown. This is a good quality mortar and pestle. After searching for the right size and style I settled on this one. I wanted something that would look nice when left on the counter instead of being kept in a closet. Bought this product for grinding salt and spices and it does the job perfectly. Makes grinding quick and easy. I've read from other users that you should "season" it with salt or some other hard substance beforehand, as small pieces of granite can be lost during the first grinding. I seasoned it with salt rocks and couldn't see any noticeable bits, but wanted to be sure. I love this product and would highly recommend adding it to your kitchen essentials. I don't know how I've gone so long without it!
