My wife and I received a $100 gift certificate for our wedding from a popular kitchen supply store. At the time I couldn't believe I was buying a thermometer for almost $100, but I couldn't find anything else in the store for that amount that I thought would be really useful. As a result, we have used this thermometer very often. Pretty much every dinner to check the temperature of a chicken, steak, hamburger or whatever. Now, almost 11 years later, he has given up his last breath. I think we accidentally left it on the toaster and it overheated the internal circuitry or something. I'm happy with this thermometer, I really like that it runs on regular AAA batteries like pretty much everything else in my house so I don't have to look for button batteries. Mine stopped working after over a decade of regular use and I'm buying another.
