Works well 2 days after installation

Advance: I installed it and it works very well. The fan is very smooth. 6 speed levels make it versatile. Fairly quiet, with a little helicopter noise at top speed. The light is adequate but the 20 year old fan it replaced had 3 stems which directed the light into the corners of the room rather than straight down. But I expected that. The light is more or less steplessly adjustable via the phone control app. I like the design of the wall console. Straightforward and simple, but elegant. Based on the pictures I thought the entire fan/bulb would be silver, but it turns out that only the light fixture and the ring holding the fan blades are silver. The fan blades are white, as is the ceiling cap (above the ceiling mount) and lower shaft. This color scheme works well in the room we placed it in. I have a lot of experience with electrics and electronics so the installation went fine for me but it may seem complicated for others. The mounting holes didn't line up with the outlet in my ceiling, but it was easy to drive the screws into the wooden ceiling studs. Assembling the various guides and trim rings, as well as feeding through a large number of wires, was difficult as there were far more wires than required for a typical ceiling height. The extra length of wire is intended to increase the length of the bottom rod for higher ceilings. I carefully unraveled the wire and carefully taped it together, knowing all that extra wire was going to be a problem. I could have cut the wire shorter but hesitated in case the fan needed to be returned which turned out not to be the case. You have to connect the wires from the fan to the receiver which inserts into the ceiling mount with wire nuts and 1 pair of wires mismatched which made me a little nervous. The wiring in the overhead control box made me laugh. I always said this would never be possible, but I made a small hole (about 5/8 inch) between the ceiling mount switch box and the ceiling wall plate and tucked all the wiring into the ceiling. Coiling the wires became a lot easier because I had the foresight to use black electrical tape to neatly tie the wires together. However, installing a mounting cover for all the wiring and the ceiling control receiver was not easy. Also, there is a point when setting up the phone app where the phone app will ask you to "go to settings" and add the fan receiver to your wifi. It would be better if they made it clear that they mean phone settings and not settings in the control app. Verdict: Works well, I like the redundancy of control from the wall or phone, but it had to be tricky to install.
