I first came across this brand of serum when I bought and used the Niacinamide Serum and I still love it and use it every morning. However, I have dry skin, and I mean very, very dry, Sahara-dry. When I was a teenager it wasn't that bad because I never had acne. Is always. But now I'm older and dry skin doesn't do me any favors. Noticing some very fine lines around my chin I immediately bought this retinol serum and I have to say I love it! It seems like so many serums and moisturizers just sit on my skin and ignore the fact that my skin is so dry and thirsty. But this serum absorbs quickly and my skin is smooth and silky as glass. I'm having a really hard time keeping my hands off my face. Retinol (and niacinamide) tightens pores so it looks like my skin has no pores, although of course I have as many pores on my face as anyone else. You just can't see them now. And with my first use, those annoying fine lines around my chin started to disappear. Now I must add that I use a 1.5mm needle once a month and a 0.25mm needle the other three weeks of the month. I am a believer that the 1.5mm needle (which should not be used more than once a month) promotes collagen production and I also believe that the retinol serum speeds up the collagen production process. (A 0.25mm roller will not stimulate collagen production, but will help absorb the product.) Together, the serum and roller work synergistically and I am very pleased with the effect. (If you suffer from acne scars, retinol should help smooth them out.) I don't have sensitive skin, so I use this serum every night under my nightly sleep mask (wait for the serum to absorb before applying the mask), but if you have sensitive skin, you should probably start by using it once or twice a week and work your way up to every evening to let your skin guide you. You might not want to use it every night if you find it causes excessive dryness, but I've found that any dryness can be counteracted with a good moisturizer and night mask. In fact, my face has never felt so fresh and hydrated since using this serum. Although retinol serum can be used during the day, I use retinol serum at night because retinols can make you more sensitive to sunlight. This sensitivity persists even after you wash it off, so wear a good sunscreen throughout the day. There are many good sunscreens here at Revain. This serum also contains Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E, which are very beneficial to the skin, helping to relieve dryness and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It can take around three months to see increased collagen production from both derma rollers and retinol serum. This doesn't mean it will take you three months to see results, but it can take just as long to see optimal results. After the first application, I noticed a significant improvement in my complexion. It was really incredible! I've tried very, very expensive luxury serums and creams, including a $400 cream that didn't do what this serum does. I cannot recommend this serum or the entire Naturium line enough. It's great to finally find a product that does what it promises. And as an added bonus, the ingredients are 'pure' as they are 100% plant derived. Very important, especially to me, is the fact that Naturium products are cruelty-free and cruelty-free so that we animal lovers can have our cake and eat it too! product, I can only say: Go for it! I think you will love them as much as I do.
