The plug hole for the car charger is too big and will fall out of the Magellan Roadmate 1700. I've tried taping it to the Roadmate 1700 or holding it while driving but nothing of it worked. I purchased a Magellan 5310 power supply and connected it to a PowerLine PowerCup 200/400 watt portable inverter with USB 90309 power connector in my car to charge my Magellan Roadmate 1700 in the car. When I compared the plug on the power cord of the car charger adapter with the plug on the AC adapter, the hole for this car charger is larger than the hole for the AC adapter plug. Do not purchase this product for the Magellan Roadmate 1700. It will charge, but only if you leave it plugged in, which cannot be done while driving.
