In March, a week after moving into the home I bought, I was exposed to carbon monoxide from a poorly installed HVAC system. My home ADT alarm went off 12 hours after reconnecting, calling the fire department and police for help. I moved the air conditioning from the underground to the attic and carefully reinstalled it. Later one of my house alarms went out of order, which means a false alarm. The policeman who came to check on me had one of these devices. I bought one as a backup and have a lot more confidence in it. I called the manufacturer and spoke to a technician who explained how to use it. You leave it on all the time and it lasts 2-4 years battery wise. This gives me confidence in the quality of the HVAC reinstall. It reads zero all the time and on the advice of a technician I tested it on my car's exhaust. It popped up right away, so it's working fine.
