Any sign of rain and I'm so ready to use this coat. Untying the leash from under the coat is tricky so I wore my dog's harness over the coat. The size is quite good, the length of the back, the hood and the front paws close well. The length of the back could be a little longer to cover his bum but that's not a problem. The strap is almost too big but it works. The attraction factor makes up for any size flaws. My toddler raises his left hand to pee including motion shots and there seems to be plenty of room. I live in the Bay Area so the only rain we've seen is light rain. Even so, your dog's legs and tummy will be wet. Nothing but human legs under a cloak. --- UPDATE --- So El Niño visited the Bay Area and we saw a lot of rain. As cute as my dog is, I NEED to brush him after the walk. His head and back are almost wet, and his stomach is muddy from splashing puddles. The hood can't cover his head because then he can't see anything, and since his torso and paws are open and wet, the cloak doesn't help him stay dry. Works for very light dust but nothing else and your pup is very wet or slightly wet. However, the attraction factor is ridiculous. video attached.
