Haven't installed this on a bike yet but damn these are quality items. The plastic components also appear to be of extremely high quality. It also comes with 3 strengths of anti-vibration pads. The locking mechanism feels secure. The design is simple and easy to assemble. This is the best mount for anything I've bought in general. You use the included hex keys to adjust the fit to your phone's size, and then the thumbscrew to install and remove during use. In portrait mode, I think it's just the weight of the mount that keeps your phone securely in place. This thing is heavy. Yes, it's more expensive, but it's definitely a case where you get what you pay for. Pay more, get more. If you are using a large/thick phone case, you may need to remove it to use this mount. Measure your phone and compare it to the chart provided. My case is pretty thin so it can fit if I want. Measure twice, buy once.
