Very solid helmet similar to better youth and adult helmets. Many kids' helmets use fancy graphics printed on a very thin laminate shell that covers the foam frame. These seem extremely non-durable, with dubious fracture and abrasion resistance. The Lavovagear, on the other hand, sports a solid molded shell with simnpler venting that doesn't compromise function. Only small negative is that the closure clasp isn't kid-friendly, requiring careful hand position and strong fingers to remove. That may not be a bad thing, however?
