Let me start by saying that it's thinner than what I remember from 'old days' which was a lot thicker. I don't have sensitive feet so it didn't hurt to stand on them, but you definitely feel the suction cups when you step on them. For people with sensitive feet, this may seem like a "rock". What I love about it is that as I get older and sometimes unsteady footing I don't have to worry about this rug, it really sticks to the surface of the tub. As for the "mold" that a lot of people have said about the rug, I don't mean to be rude, but take your bath rug and wash it! Bathmats should never be left in the bath or shower. What do you expect from high humidity and a warm environment that only grows mold?! After every shower I just give it a quick rinse and drape it over the edge of the tub with the suction cups up (it's hidden behind the shower curtain).
