Review on πŸ’‘ Cooler Master MK730: Tenkeyless Mechanical Keyboard for Gaming with Brown Switches, Cherry MX, customizable RGB Lighting, and Detachable Wrist Support by Mark Clark

Cooler Master is underrated in the keyboard market!

Cooler Master mechanical keyboards seem to be underestimated, most likely due to the popularity of companies like Corsair and Razer. But in the end, Cooler Master keyboards have almost the same features at a better price. The MK750 is Cooler Master's modern "flagship" keyboard and Cooler Master's first mechanical keyboard with palm rest, media keys and an open whiteboard design. So I'll cover the main features as well as some notable bonuses. The design is a typical CM mechanical keyboard. There's no room for the superfluous, all Cooler Master keyboards fit right in. On paper, it looks very similar to keyboards like the Corsair K70 or the Razer Blackwidow X. The build quality is amazing. It looks like plastic but very high quality plastic and it has some weight so it could be steel. It doesn't feel fragile, it doesn't slide on the table, it really feels like a premium product. If anything, the build quality is on par with Corsair. With the MK750 you have 3 switch options: Red, Brown or Blue. Cherry MX switches, of course. I went for the MX Red version and I have to say that Cooler Master does a great job with these switches. This keyboard comes with Cherry stabilizers for the big keys and I can confirm they do NOT feel as soft as Corsair keyboards. They are buttery smooth with no surprises! So don't limit yourself to switching options, even if you won't find an MX Black or MX Green on this board. This keyboard is very versatile. You get a magnetic palm rest that can be customized to your liking, you get anti-ghosting, N-key switching, dedicated media keys, but for some reason no dedicated volume keys. You get a keycap remover and an extra set of purple keycaps for the WASD, Arrow, and ESC keys. But that's not all, you get a lot more! The software is quite complex, but CM said they are trying to improve it. The software lets you control things like lighting and macros and more, but it should improve over time. The best part is that the software is completely OPTIONAL! The lighting is not as good as the competition. The rainbow wave, for example, isn't really a rainbow wave, but rather red, green, and purple-pink. But the colors are very accurate, even static white is actually white. Despite the not-so-great lighting and software, this is my #1 pick for a mechanical keyboard right now. The build quality, switch implementation, and feature set are amazing. Act!
