It was a great idea but the weak link is the sticky mount. It's much weaker than a magnet and after a few pulls it ripped off the back of my phone's protective plastic cover. I can't use it on my phone right now because I also have a vinyl card holder. The adhesive on the vinyl card holder is much stronger than the adhesive used on the car magnet holder. Today I ordered a different style of vent mount that uses a universal spring clip design (Tamanso). Let's see how he behaves.
