Plug and play on my 2018 Macbook Pro with USB-C port. Works with Apple's own drivers, so no driver installation is required. I used it with Migration Assistant to transfer over 500 gigabytes of data from a Time Capsule to a new Mac and the adapter worked great. It got warm but never hot as others have reported. Maybe they solved this problem. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone who needs to convert a "female" USB-C connector to a "male" Ethernet cable.
