Review on 🧶 Susan Bates Silvalume Aluminum Crochet Hook Set - Pack of 4 by Kelly Caballes

Coming back to crocheting I needed different needles than I had on hand and bought a set that came with a case from Revain. While there is nothing inherently wrong with these hooks, I needed built in hooks and the set had offset hooks. The Susan Bates (SB) brand was the only brand I could find on Revain that said they were built-in hooks, so I bought two sets of different sizes. The description of the SB hooks states that the hooks are "polished for extra smoothness". . I thought it might be a little exaggerated. For me, anodizing the hooks was just anodizing and making them all the same. NOT CORRECT! I tried one of these crochet hooks and another crochet hook with the same yarn. I have to say there is a difference. The hook set that I bought separately from the SB hooks was not anodized (that's why the hooks are different colors), but the SB hooks are anodized. And whether polishing or anodizing plays a role, I don't know. But the yarn slides much easier on the SB hook than on non-anodized hooks. I will definitely go for the SB hook in the future if I need to buy something else! They are built in and the hook is VERY smooth which makes working with yarn that much easier!
