I heard a rude ZAP and an urgent beep from another room. I found my server is down and the UPS is panicking. Troubleshooting revealed that this power supply shorted out the SATA power rail and destroyed the controllers on my 6TB data drive, its mirror and another backup drive, and disabled the Blu-ray drive. I informed Corsair that their failed hard drive destroyed 2.4TB of my data AND their backups. They said they would reimburse for the hard drives but not for the data recovery ($1400 out of pocket?!). As I'm still trying to recover my data, I can't send the PSU or drives in for "destructive" testing and refunds, so I haven't seen a dime. My next backup solution won't depend on a Corsair power supply, that's for sure.
