The top layer of this bed is so thin it instantly rips to shreds. I bought one and soon after my dog first left the bed I noticed shreds (it looked like razor cuts). I thought I just didn't see the gap when I first opened the bed. I changed the bed. A new bed arrived and the same thing happened in the same place. I don't think the slits were there before the dog got in, but the fabric is so flimsy, flimsy, cheap and brittle that one or two grooming and circular motions and lace will shred. My dog showed no aggression at all when nesting - it's just a ridiculously cheap bed. I'm sending the second one back too.
