There is no tension at all in the hinge for the money part. the hinge is just leather. The locking mechanism is a weak magnet. This means if you like carrying a lot of bills around, this is unfortunately useless. Otherwise, it's a good cardholder. But I was looking for something to store my money so I can't use that.
